Beginning the Journey
Exploring thoughts around Genesis 2 to establish the fact that before you begin any journey, you must have a sense of purpose and deliver without limitation. The companion who will come, is a helper comparable to you.

Every journey has a beginning. If the vision is to become one or become like Christ, you must take appropriate steps to realise that.
In Genesis 2, after God formed man, we learn that God put man in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. God further commanded man to eat freely of every tree of the garden but not the tree of the knowledge of good and evil as that would cause man to die.
We also learn that God noticed it was not good for man to be alone - there was the need for a helper comparable to him. After God had established this fact, God brought every 'beast of the field' and every 'bird of the air' to Adam to see what he would call them. The Bible says, whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name.
After this task was accomplished, we learn that as for Adam, there was not found a helper comparable to him. God's earlier observation has further been established following the naming of all the living creatures.
It was at this point that God HIMSELF caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and God undertook the first known surgical operation to take one of his ribs - closed the flesh up and used the rib HE had taken to make the woman. When HE finished with the masterpiece, when Adam was awake, HE brought her to Adam.
When Adam saw her, in astonishment, he noticed a helper comparable to him had been formed. In what could be described as satisfaction for what he'd seen, he said, "This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."
Adam, still had the right to name, so he didn't hesitate to name her 'Woman'.
Our anchor scripture, Genesis 2:24 follows immediately after Adam's declaration - "Therefore, a man shall leave his father and mother and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."
The chapter concludes in verse 25 "And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed."
It can be learned from the above that God instituted order.
Adam remained in communion or fellowship with God. Through his continuous fellowship, and in exercise of his divine mandate, God noticed he didn't have a helper comparable to him as it was the case of the other creatures he had named.
The important point to note here is that, before you begin the journey, you must do what you have been called to do - you must live your purpose. It is in living your purpose that you receive the equipping for the journey.
When you keep your focus on your calling, God will provide the helper comparable to you. When God provides, you will see.
A critical point to note is that, in the process of naming the beasts of the field and the birds of the air, Adam came across some creatures that had some features similar to him but he noticed perhaps they were not mutually intelligible and thus could not be a helper comparable to him.
The assurance we find in this piece of scripture is that, God truly provides. HIS provision is beyond our expectation - it dazzles and fills with a deep sense of awe.
Before you begin the journey, establish yourself in the LORD. Plug yourself in HIM.
He will provide and make your leaving much easier.
